The Premier League title race 2019/2020

So we are half way through the Premier League season already. Who would have thought Liverpool would be 14 points ahead of Man City? That VAR would be used so much? That Brendan Rodgers would bring his Leicester city side into second place? There are still so many questions left to be answered. Can Liverpool maintain this unbeaten run? Only one draw and winning non stop. Van Dijik at the heart of the team. The players up their performances when he is in the team. He is the heartbeat of the team. He gives robertson and Trent a free  license to roam forward and whip those dangerous crosses into the box. The reds front trio of Mane, Salah and Firmino are ripping teams apart with there movement, technique and limitless talents.  Leicester have Maddison and Vardy doing likewise keeping them in contention. There well balanced midfield some argue are similar to Liverpool’s. Although 10 points adrift. City without Kompany are not the same kettle of fish. Their defense has looked lackluster. With attacking players like De Bruyne and Aguero will close the game. Overall it’s all about Liverpool. It seems this team has learnt from the heartache of last season. 1990 seems like an eternity. With Klopp at the healm few could begrudge them of the title. The likes of Spurs and Chelsea have been inconsistent aswell as Arsenal and United. The gap seems to be widening. Liverpool’s game at Leicester on Boxing Day is a massive game. But with Liverpool to go to City still on the horizon, the twists and turns of the premier league will ensure this is no stroll in the park. Last season Liverpool triped up with 4 draws from 6 games ultimately being their downfall. Will the Club World Cup in Qatar disrupt momentum. I suspect not. The more questions asked of this Liverpool team, the more answers they seem to have. Although they are not keeping as many clean sheets, wins over Everton and Man City were highly impressed. Mane has been different class. Klopp has been compared by Jamie Carragher recently, as a “German Bill Shankley”. It seems this team are the only team that can stop themselves ruling England once again. Manchester City would be targeting the champions league so surely that could play its part too. With the riches at their disposal, you would think they need a European crown more than another League title. If I had to call it top 4 would be Liverpool champions, city , Leicester and Chelsea. Let’s hope VAR isn’t what we’re talking about come what May.
